Chamber of Commerce
1954
Over the years various organizations in Ipswich, from the Chamber of Commerce to the Historical Commission have published booklets on the town. The Ipswich of 1954 was a time when most of the historic buildings were still active. The map was nearly the same as today. The booklet included here was informative about the town of the past and the town of the present (1954). It provides a snap shot in time. I hope it is interesting to those unfamiliar with the town because it shows some of it and to those more familiar a bit of nostalgia for a simpler time. For me it is the time I remember as the time of innocence. The reading gets somewhat boring and dated, but there are some interesting pictures throughout.
The back cover included a map showing the various sites. I have included this as the next page and will link all other pages to it so you can find the way.
