Grandfather Bowen's Little Book
My Grandfather, Henry S. Bowen was a storyteller, a printer, a clammer and an Ipswich resident his entire life. He was a telephone operator before the dial up system. It was not unusual to pick up the phone to make a call and find my grandfather or my uncle Chet or my aunt Dot on the other end asking for a number. Privacy was not a priority in those days. He always wanted to write but never actually put pen to paper through most of his life. In 1954, at the age of 80 years he wrote and printed and sold the little volume that is contained in this file.
