Tales of Olde Ipswich

by Harold Bowen

Harold Bowen was my Mother's brother.  His father, Henry S. Bowen, wrote what I have called Grampy's Little Book.  In 1972 he was asked to write a column for a newspaper called "Ipswich Today".  The publisher was Harris Smith, who passed away in April 2000.  He was aided by his wife Donna.  Harold wrote the columns for about ten years.  Three books of these columns were published by the Ipswich Today.  Although Harold provided the stories and the original writing, Donna Smith did the cleaning up and shaping of the articles (making it readable).

Please remember that these were written in the 1970's, so some references to individuals and/or houses made within may be outdated.

The Tales of Olde Ipswich has been republished in one volume and is on sale exclusively at Rivers Edge Card & Gift Store in Ipswich.

Several of his Stories overlap and I have tried to link those.
