Dr. Dana's Meeting House
Dr Dana was Joseph Dana. He was pastor of the South Parish Church from 1765 until his death in 1827. He was obviously will liked by his parishioners for they seemed to have written quite often about his church and Mr. Dana. Dr. Dana's Church was located on the South Green. It was constructed in 1747 and abandoned in 1838 when the parish was moved to the columned church beside the Heard House. All of the following poems commemorated events in that parish.
